Dr. L.E. Gomez, longtime HUCM Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine has written an article in Emergency Medicine News about his career journey and how he eventually settled in at Howard University College of Medicine. In the article, Dr. Gomez writes about the importance of diversity and inclusion in medicine, and the differences between the two. He recalls his experiences facing hostility and racism in the workplace, and shares his opinion on where he thinks diversity and inclusion stand in the practice of medicine today.
