Shelly McDonald-Pinkett, M.D., F.A.C.P., C.P.H.Q., has been appointed as Interim Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine, effective September 6, 2018. Dr. McDonald-Pinkett replaces Dr. Charles Howell, who stepped down as Department Chair, effective September 5, 2018. Dr. Howell will remain on department faculty and return to full faculty responsibilities including teaching, research, and service. 

Dr. McDonald-Pinkett is a senior member of the department faculty with a wealth of knowledge and experience. She will oversee education, research, clinical and administrative activities of the department until a permanent chair is recruited.
