Gail Nunlee-Bland, M.D. has been appointed as the Interim Chair of the Department of Pediatrics and Child Health, effective October 1, 2018. Dr. Nunlee-Bland will replace Dr. Joseph Wright who was appointed Chief Medical Officer with the University of Maryland Capital Region Health. Dr. Nunlee-Bland is a tenured full professor in the department and is well regarded by colleagues and students alike. Dr. Bland will oversee all educational, research, clinical and administrative activities of the department while a formal search for a permanent chair is conducted.
